🍺 £6.20 Moretti
❤️ A stylish and welcoming pub.
The Queens Head sits at a bustling junction in the heart of Shoreditch, conveniently close to Shoreditch High Street station, just a brief stroll away.
Housed within the historic Unicorn House, this establishment took residence in September 2022 after a series of occupants, including the Brewpub Goose Island from Chicago. Managed by the esteemed PubCo @urbanpubsandbars, this stylish, single-bar pub boasts deceptive spaciousness. Its décor cleverly melds contemporary elements, featuring traditional furnishings, framed prints, exposed brickwork, and a sleek modern bar area. Seating options abound, with high poser tables and banquettes upfront, while the rear houses low tables and chairs.
The beer selection delights, offering a fine array of London craft brews and continental favorites. Opting for a pint of Moretti, I found it excellent, reasonably priced among the offerings. The menu impresses with Mediterranean-inspired small plates like Chorizo & Parmesan croquettes alongside classic pub fare such as Fish & Chips and Sunday Roasts.
During my early Saturday evening visit in April, the pub pulsated with a lively, bustling atmosphere. The diverse crowd included solo patrons, intimate couples, and larger groups enjoying a night out. Service was exceptional; the attendant was personable, welcoming, and clearly relishing their role. The venue screens live sports, featuring Premier League, Rugby, and NFL matches, while Thursday and Saturday evenings invite dancing with resident DJs.
@queensheadshoreditch left a positive impression on me. Both the staff and patrons contributed to its inviting ambiance. With its diverse beer and food offerings, comfortable yet chic setting, it’s a definite recommendation for anyone exploring Shoreditch’s pub scene.
