❤️ The quintessential Arsenal pub.
My last visit to The Gunners was just over four years ago. This pub holds a lot of sentimental value to me as my Dad used to work behind the bar back in the 70’s before running his own pubs in and around London. My Godmother was the Landlady, she was a no nonsense but funny Irish woman who knew how to command a pub. One of the regulars who used to drink in here was Arsenal Kit-Man Tony Donnelly, Tony and my Dad became great friends and often had a drink or two in The Gunners and surrounding pubs.
I have visited The Gunners many times with my Dad throughout my childhood on our way to see The @arsenal my coke and a packet of crisps eventually became a pint with my Dad at the bar. My last visit here with my Dad was back in 1989. We had a few pints in here then made our way to the club entrance on the east stand to meet Tony who had some complimentary tickets for us. Since then, I now take my Son here and I know when my Grandson is old enough my Son will follow on the tradition.
The @thegunnerspub has had a recent upgrade back in the summer with a new paint job and upgraded the toilets you’ll be pleased to know. This pub is a great match day pub but also has fantastic live music and open mic nights throughout the month. I have visited on non match days and always enjoyed visiting here regardless of sentimental value.
The pub is well worth a visit but avoid match days as it’s home supporters only.
